Introduction
A lending library can use Ship Item digitally to send a link to an article to a borrowing library patron. The borrowing library notice FulDigitizationDocumentDelivery is sent to the patron so the patron can access the article. Library patrons have reported that they are not getting an email with a link to the article. This will be reported as an issue to ExLibris. Borrowing library staff can use Send File to Patron to send the notice to the patron. This bug may have been introduced with the July 7th Alma release.
If a patron reports not getting an article
Article requests will have a completed status. The Activity Status must be changed to Completed.
1.) Activity Status must be changed to Completed. Remove the Active status request filter by clicking on the x
2.) Search for the request by using a search term and entering the search text in the box.
3.) The request status is Request Completed
4.) File available text displays
5.) Click on More actions (three dots)
6.) Click on Send File to Patron
7.) An information message Email sent successfully to patron should display.
How to check if a patron has received an email about an article
To check if a patron has received an email with a link to their article use filters. Use the Request Completed filter, Supplied Format Digital and Update date of 4-7 and then click on Apply.
Borrowing requests will display. On a request click on Requester and then on the patron's name
Because this digital request is Completed and had a File available there should be a notice in the Attachments tab. Since there is no notice staff will need to go back to the ILL request and use Send file to patron.
After Send file to patron was done, the FulDigitizationDocumentDeliveryNotification appears on the Attachments tab
