Where to update CDI settings in Alma

Where to update CDI settings in Alma

Required user roles:

In order to make changes to the CDI settings, you must have the CDI Inventory Operator role in Alma.

Information in Alma

Some collections include the “Available for CDI search activation” flag, meaning they can be activated for search independently of full-text activation. This flag is found in the electronic collection summary on the search page.

By default, all portfolios are mapped and published to the CDI for search.

Updating CDI Settings

If you want to show the CDI records from a collection without links to full text
  1. set Activation to "No" on the Activation tab
  2. set CDI Search Activation Status to "Yes" on the CDI tab
If the collection is designated as link-in-record, and you only want to have CDI records containing direct links to appear in discovery:
  1. set Activation to "No" on the Activation tab
  2. Enable "CDI-only full text activation" by checking the box on the CDI tab
If you want to ensure only CDI records mapped to your active portfolios appear as available in discovery (instead of the entire collection):
  1. Set collection to "Active" on the Activation tab
  2. Set "We subscribe to only some titles in this collection" to "Yes" on the CDI tab
If you do not want any CDI records associated with this collection to appear in discovery unless they are also active in another collection:
  1. Set collection to "Active" on the Activation tab
  2. Enable "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" by checking the box on the CDI tab
If you want to add a free-text note related to the CDI settings:
  1. Enter text in the Local Notes field on the CDI tab
