Lending Library Check-in item to complete a request

Lending library complete request

When an item is returned to a lending library, the library completes the request by doing a "Scan in Items" or "Check-in" from a specific request. This completes the request for borrowing and lending libraries. If a "Check-in" is done on a specific request make sure to do a Fulfillment "Scan in Items" so the item will be available.

Lending requests that have been returned can be completed by using the "Scan in Item." The request will be completed for the borrowing and lending library. The item will show as available.

From "Fulfillment" click on "Scan in items"

A "Scan In Items" form displays.
Scan the item barcode into the "Scan item barcode" field.
Click on "OK."

The "Scan In Items' form displays with information on the next step for the item. Additional item barcodes may be scanned in, To close the "Scan In Items" click on "Exit."

The lending and borrowing request updates to "Request Completed."  The item is available and can be reshelved.

Lending library Complete a request from a specific request

Lending requests with a status of "Returned by partner" or other lending requests that need to be completed, can be completed from a specific request. When a "Check-in" is done from a specific request, the ILL request is completed but the item shows as unavailable. When a "Check-in" is done on a specific request, a Fulfillment "Scan-in" must be done to show the item as available.

Display the request

Location of Checked in under a specific request
Click on "More action" (three dots)
From the drop down menu click on "Checked in."

Notes do not need to be added to the "Internal note" or the "Note to partner" fields. If you need to communicate with the borrowing library about the item- do not do check-in the item. Send a "General Message" on the request. 
Click on "Ok" to complete the request.

The ILL request is completed. The item is not available

The item must be scanned in to show as available.

To show the item as available.
Click on "Fulfillment" 
Scan in items location under Fulfillment
Click on "Scan In Items"

A "Scan In Items" form displays.
The "Scan in items" should be selected.

Scan the item barcode into the "Scan item barcode" field.
Click on "OK."

The response shows the next step for the item.

If there are more items to make available enter or scan the item barcodes in the "Scan item barcode" field. 

Click on "Exit" to stop scanning item barcodes and leave this workform.

The request updates to "Request Completed" for the borrowing and lending library. The item is available and can be reshelved.
