Islandora ingesting multiple pages

Ingesting Multi-Page Objects


Use the paged content model for multi-page objects, like books, newsletters, etc. The paged content model generates a display with turning pages and the ability to zoom into the text. A multiple-page object's file format must be .tiff, jpg, or png.

1. Ingest Form

  1. In the Model field, select Paged Content.
  2. Enter the title of the object. 
  3. Do NOT enter any information in the 'Member of' field.
  4. Enter a Collection Name.
  5. Enter any other metadata fields
  6. Click Save.
The metadata opens in the Islandora Website.

2. Children Tab

  1. Click on the Children Tab.
  2. In the content type field select Repository Item.
  3. Model field select Page.
  4. From the media type field, select File. Using tiff files will give the best display for users.
  5. Choose Original File from the usage options.
  6. Click next.

3. Loading Pages

  1. Navigate to the pages to upload via the choose files button,
  2. Before proceeding, wait until the files completes uploading. A green banner will appear once the upload is complete and successful.
  3. Once the upload completes, click finish.
