How to view Messages from Facet, Task Widget, Task Icon

Introduction

A Message is used to communicate information between the borrowing and lending libraries. Library staff should actively look for Messages and respond to the Message as soon as possible. Library staff can access General Messages facet, Task icon or Task widget.

General Messages Facet

There is a Message facet for borrowing and lending requests. In the default view of Facets, General Message facet is lower in the list.  This makes it difficult to see. This facet can be moved to display at the top of the facet list. The General Message facet can be moved for borrowing and lending requests. Each library staff person with a unique login can move the General Message facet to a location that works for their workflow.

Customize the location of the General Message facet

The screen capture below shows the location of the facets.

1.) Click on the Customize wheel

2.) A Customization menu displays. Click on Facets Customization

3.) Click on General Message to move the facet in the display list
Select facet to drag to new location

4.) Click on Apply to save the change

5.) The General Message facet displays in the location selected.

6.) Click on the box in front of Active General Message to view the message
7.) Click on Apply

8.) Click on Messages icon to view the message text.

9.)  Message text displays. 
10.) Click on More actions (three dots) and select General Message to respond to the message

11.) Select General Message from the drop-down menu

12.) Enter message tex
13.) Click on Send

14.) Information message displays that the message was sent

15.) After responding to the message use Dismiss to clear the message from the facet
Dismiss message after replying to it.

16. Click on the checkbox to dismiss the message

Task Icon or Task Widget

That a "General Message" has been sent on a request is displayed in the Task Widget or Task Icon. Use either the Task Widget or Task Icon to see that your library has a Message that should be viewed and responded to. The Task Widget or Task Icon provide the same information.

To access the request and message click on the number.

After clicking on the number, the "General Messages" facet is displayed. The requests with messages are displayed.
To view the message, click on "Edit"

Then click on "General Messages" tab

The "General Messages" tab will display all of the active and dismissed messages on a request.

1.) To send a message to the other library click on "General Message".

2.) Enter the text of your message 
3.) Send the message

After reviewing the messages they can be dismissed. When a message is dismissed it will not display as an active message in the Task Widget or Task Icon.
The message will display on the "General Messages" tab of a request.

4.) Click on the ellipsis
5.) Select "Dismiss"
