Import the new Films on Demand bibliographic records and discontinued titles from the Films on Demand collection, using the Films on Demand import profiles. It is the libraries' responsibility to keep their Films on Demand collection up-to-date in Alma. The Films on Demand collection loads to individual institutions zones. The Films on Demand Import Profile, adds new bibliographic records to the Films on Demand collection. The Films on Demand  Deletion Profile deletes discontinued titles from the Films on Demand collection.   

Initial bibliographic record load to Alma (only needs to be done for the first load to Alma) 

Create a bibliographic file on FOD's website. 

Log into your FOD's account 
Find the link to MARC records 
Download the MARC records
Save file to PC 

Loading the initial file to Alma 

Resources -> Import -> Import -> Films on Demand New Records, choose Run from action menu. 

Click on Select File -> Browse to MARC file on PC -> Submit 
To check the completion of the job, Admin -> Monitor Jobs -> History tab -> Click action menu next to the job and choose report 
Click on the arrow for each accordion to check for problems. From the ellipses, choose records to view records. Download sources (binary) to view rejected records.

Log into your FOD's account 
Find the new MARC Records  
Download New Records  
Save the file to the PC 


 

Loading the file to Alma 

Resources -> Import -> Import -> Films on Demand New Records, choose Run from action menu. 

Click on Select File -> Browse to MARC file on PC -> Submit 
To check the completion of the job, Admin -> Monitor Jobs -> History tab -> Click action menu next to the job and choose report 
Click on the arrow for each accordion to check for problems. From the ellipsis, choose Records to view the records. Download sources (binary) to view rejected records. 

Loading Discontinued Titles  

Downloading Discontinued records from FOD 

Log into your FOD's account 
Find MARC Records  
Find the Discontinued Titles file, pay attention to the date created date. It is your responsibility to keep track of files loaded. Click on Download File, ensure to select .mrc file extension 
Save the file to the PC. 

Loading the Discontinued Titles file to Alma 

Resources -> Import -> Import -> Films on Demand Delete choose Run from action menu. 

Click on Select File -> Browse to MARC file on PC -> Submit 
To check the completion of the job, Admin -> Monitor Jobs -> History tab -> Click action menu next to the job and choose report 
Click on the arrow for each accordion to check for problems. From thellipses, choose Download sources (binary) to see deleted or reject records.
