Islandora 2 Compound Objects

Compound Objects

Compound Object enables the display of multiple objects associated with one parent (Compound Object). Please open a ticket if you want to use this feature.

1. Adding Compound Object (Parent)

Open the Ingest form.
For Model,select Compound Object.
Enter a title for the Compound Object.
Select the Collection to associate the Compound Object. 
Fill in the remainder of the metadata describing the Compound Object.
Save

2. Adding the Child 

Click on the Children tab
Click the Add Child button
Select Repository item.
The ingest form opens.
Model select the model that describes the child object. 
Enter the title for the child object.
Do NOT select a Collection
Note that the 'member of' field will be filled in with the Compound Object (Parent) title. DO NOT CHANGE!
Enter the remaining metadata.
Save

3. Adding Media to Child

Click on the Media tab.
Click on Add Media.
Select the appropriate file type. 
Browse to the file on the computer to upload.
Wait until seeing a green banner informing you that the upload was successful.
Click save.

4. Adding additional Children

Click over to the Content tab.
Find the Compound Object title in the list.
Select edit from the Compound Object title.
Click over to the Children tab.
Repeat instructions starting with number 2.
