Cancel a Rejected Borrowing Request

Introduction

When a request can't be filled by any lending library. The request status is Rejected by Partner. Staff can review the request, if your library has OCLC WorldShare you may enter the request in OCLC WorldShare. Your library may choose to buy the item or article. A request with a status of Rejected by Partner will display as an Active borrowing request. The request will display in the patron's Primo account. To complete the borrowing request, staff can cancel a request with a status of Rejected by partner.

How to cancel a borrowing request with a status of Rejected by Partner

Display borrowing requests

1.) Select the Rejected by partner status.

2.) Click on Edit to see the reason the request could not be supplied
Borrowing request use Edit to view more information about the request.

3.) Click on the Note tab to see the lending library reason for not filling the request.
After click on Edit additional tabs display, Notes shows information from lending library.

4.) Click on Cancel Request
Use Cancel Request to complete the request and update request to Cancelled by staff.

A pop-up Request Cancellation box displays.
5.) Click on the down arrow to select a reason for the cancellation
6.) Enter an additional text in the Cancellation note field. The patron can see this text.
7.) Click on Notify user to send a notice to the patron.
8.) Click on Confirm to update the request to cancelled.

Pop up box allows staff to choose a reason, provide a note and notify the patron.

The request is Completed with a status of Cancelled by staff
Borrowing request is Completed and has a status of Cancelled by staff.
