Add walk-in from MnPALS Library

Both MnPALS Libraries must be participants in the fulfillment network.
  1. Navigate to the Patron Identification Page
    Admin > Fulfillment > Checkout/CheckIn > Manage Patron Services
  2. Check the box next to Find User in Other Location
  3. Select the appropriate Link from the Institution drop down
  4. Start typing the library name to limit the number of libraries seen in the drop down
  5. Enter a unique identifier for the patron
    • Examples of unique identifiers: Barcode, starID, PrimaryID
If there are multiple matches to your search term, Alma will say it can't find a match. So it's important to use the unique identifier
  6. Hit Find User
    • If the account is found, the patron's information will automatically load into Alma.
    • If the account is unable to be located, Alma will display a warning and a flag that the account is not found at the location, then staff will have to manually enter the information.
The primary identifier auto-fills and it is not the identifier you used to locate the patron.
  7. Click Update User
On a patron's subsequent visit, it's recommended that you continue to locate walk-in patrons using the find user in other location checkbox.
